News: Get Ready For Discover's 5% Bonus Categories In Q3 2024 - Credit-Land.com

Cardholders of the Discover it® Cash Back card can now log in to their account and activate 5% Cashback Bonus categories for the next quarter. Those who do not have an eligible Discover credit card yet, have enough time to get one and then enjoy accelerated cash back.

The 5% Cashback Bonus categories for the third quarter of this year (from July 1 through September 30, 2024) are Walmart and grocery stores. Walmart purchases include those made online, through the Walmart app, in-stores, Curbside Pickup, Walmart+, and Walmart Gas Stations. Sam's Club purchases are not eligible. Grocery store purchases include those made at supermarkets, meat lockers, bakeries, smaller grocery stores, and grocery delivery services. Purchases made from Target, convenience stores, wholesale clubs, and discount stores are not eligible.

The activation for the third quarter is already open, but you can activate the 5% Cashback Bonus any time from now and through the end of the third quarter. Just keep in mind that if you do not activate, you will earn only the base 1% back in those categories.

Another important thing about the 5% Cashback Bonus is that you will earn 5% cash back on up to $1,500 in category purchases each quarter. That's up to $75 cash back each quarter. If you reach the quarterly limit, you will continue earning 1% cash back. All other purchases will always earn 1% cash back.
